- USGA rules, together with the Rules of Etiquette of Golf as adopted by
the USGA, shall be the rules of the Club except as modified by local
rules. Rules decisions of the Head Golf Professional shall be final.
- No practice allowed on course. Chipping and putting is permitted in
designated area around putting green.
- All play starts on the No. 1 tee, unless other provisions are made for
an event (e.g. “shotgun start”), or the Professional Staff authorizes
starting on another tee.
- All players and members must register in the Golf Shop before
beginning play. Each member must present membership card when
registering. “Cutting In” is not permitted. No play is allowed when the
course is closed.
- All players must have a set of golf clubs. Soft spikes are
required.
- Members or guests who arrive to play without proper golf attire may be
denied access to the golf course. For all players, proper attire generally
excludes denim and shorts that do not come down close to the top of the
knee. For males, proper attire also excludes tee shirts, tank tops or
other shirts without sleeves. For females, proper attire also generally
excludes halter tops, tank tops, tube tops and similar apparel. Reasonable
exceptions may be made by the General Manager/Head Professional or other
authorized personnel.
- Players late for their starting times will lose their rights to that
time and may start play only at the direction of the starter or the pro
shop.
- Singles and twosomes, when permitted to play, have no special standing
on the course to pass other players. During peak periods of play, it may
be necessary for the Golf Shop to pair up singles and twosomes. Foursomes
shall have the right of way. Five-some or larger groupings are not allowed
without permission of the General Manager or the Head Professional.
- All Members may walk the course after 2 p.m. on weekdays. Weekend
walking is permitted after 2 p.m. with approval from the professional
staff.
- No coolers allowed. Bear Brook offers full beverage service. Guests
may purchase from beverage cart service or from the grill area. Coolers
are available for your convenience. Consumption of alcohol by any person
under 21 is prohibited. All guests must conduct themselves in an orderly
and safe manner. Bear Brook reserves the right to deny sales to any guest
not observing these rules.
- Golf carts may not be operated by anyone without a valid drivers
license, or by anyone under the influence of alcohol. “Cart Path Only” and
other directional signs are to be adhered to at all times.
- Eligible children of members are permitted use of the golf course
provided rules, and proper behavior and etiquette are followed. A
responsible adult must accompany junior golfers under the age of 16,
unless the Manager/Professional Staff has approved the junior golfer for
playing unaccompanied. Junior golfers may walk and carry their own bag
after 2:00 p.m., providing they maintain acceptable pace of play. Only
player with valid drivers license are permitted to operate golf carts.
- The target time for 18 holes at Bear Brook is 4 hours 15 minutes. It
is important to keep pace with the group ahead of you. If your group is
lagging behind, please play “Ready Golf” and hit each shot as soon as you
can do so without interfering with others players.
- Player Assistants (rangers) have full authority on the on the golf
course to enforce all rules and speed of play. If you are not holding your
position on the course you may be asked to speed up, let faster groups
through, or skip a hole or portions of a hole in order to catch up. Player
unable to play at an acceptable pace may be asked to terminate play. In
such an event, fees may or may not be refunded, at the discretion of
Manager or Head Professional.
- No pets are permitted on the golf course property (seeing-eye dogs
excluded).
- Certain risk are inherent in playing the game of golf and in being
around a golf course. Neither the Club nor the owners of Bear Brook Golf
Club are responsible for any personal injury, nor for any damage to
property, sustained as a result of the flight of a golf ball.
- Lightning and/or other weather risks also inherent in the game of
golf, and are beyond the control of the Club or Club owners. Club
personnel may not always be aware of risks, and may not be able to provide
golfers with advance warning. Each golfer is responsible for taking
appropriate action in the event of threatening weather conditions.
- Bear Brook is your club as a member or guest we ask that you help with
its condition. Repair your ball marks, replace your divots and rake
bunkers after each use. We want every experience to be remembered. Thank
